THAT all Items for Consideration BE APPROVED. The Committee separated each item for discussion purposes. 2 4.1 Motion to Prohibit the Parking of School Buses on Certain Streets Rob Smith introduced the item to the members of the Committee stating that two resolutions have been passed by City Council regarding concerns of buses parking on City streets. Staff have been directed to invite representatives from the local School Boards, School Trustees, Bus Drivers and Bus Contractors to the Committee to discuss safety issues arising from the parking of school buses on residential streets. Councillor Carpenter stated that himself and Councillor Utley brought the resolution to Council to look at a potential policy to prohibit parking of commercial vehicles on certain streets and to discuss concerns with school bus pick up and drop off. Mr. and Mrs. White addressed the Committee and stated that the concerns in his neighbourhood are stemming from one individual who has concerns with all commercial vehicles. The buses are parked between 9 am and 2 pm while the buses are not being used and between the start of school and the end of school. Mr. White would like to continue to be able to park his bus on the street during those times as it prevents the need for a personal vehicle. He suggested moving the bus to a neighouring street but fears this will lead to complaints on another street. Philip Kuckyt explained that he partners with the School Board and tries to accommodate onsite parking
