Brantford Heritage Committee

2 THAT the following comments from the Brantford Heritage Committee BE INCLUDED in Staff’s future report to Committee of the Whole – Planning and Administration regarding Heritage Grant Application HG-03-21:  The Brantford Heritage Committee agrees with the staff recommendation.

THAT the following comments of the Brantford Heritage Committee BE INCLUDED in Staff’s Report to Committee of the Whole – Planning and Administration on December 14, 2021.  The Brantford Heritage Committee strongly supports the extension of the program and the changes recommended by staff;  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that the total number of inquiries, consultations, and applications to the program be included in the report;  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that staff notify the owners of all designated and listed properties no later than the end of 2022 of the grant program;  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that staff provide information about the program to owners of designated and listed properties who have received property standards complaints on their property;  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that as future properties are added to the Heritage Register through the Heritage 3 Register project, owners are notified of the grant program when they are added;  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that a portion of the remaining budget be allocated to additional advertising of the grant program; and  The Brantford Heritage Committee recommends that staff advertise the grant program to real estate associations in Brantford and the surrounding areas.

THAT the minutes of the October 25, 2021 meeting of the Brantford Heritage Committee BE APPROVED.
