Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee

A. THAT Report 2022-365 Community Climate Action Plan Progress Update BE RECEIVED; and B. THAT the following comments from the Environmental Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee regarding the Brantford Community Climate Change Action Plan BE INCLUDED in Staff’s future report to Committee of the Whole – Operations i. The Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee notes possible policy changes related to municipal waste collections from the Provincial government ii. The Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee acknowledges the importance of education materials and past successes of and about waste diversion programs iii. The Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee recommends considering monitoring of use of bike lanes and trails iv. The Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee suggests including statistics related to social media posts associated with sustainability activities. v. The Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee recommends reviewing data related to composters and rain barrels for possible indications of waste diversion.

THAT the minutes of the February 24, 2022 meeting of the Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee BE APPROVED
